Performing a wedding within the five boroughs of New York City? In order to officiate a wedding, you must apply using this package. That's because NYC has some unique requirements for wedding officiants, including specific documents from the church that must be presented during the registration process. All of those documents and materials are included in this New York City Wedding Package.
The NYC Wedding Package contains:
- Your official ordination credential
- A Letter of Good Standing from the ULC
- A copy of our wedding handbook, By The Power Vested In You
- (1) Church Description Statement
- (1) Certificate of Church Incorporation
- (1) Application Form from City of New York
- (2) Standard Marriage Certificates
- (1) Premium ULC Marriage Certificate
- (1) Clergy Badge (white)
- (1) Human Timeline of Mythology and Religion
Package Notice:
- NYC requires that the name on your ordination documents EXACTLY matches your gov't issued I.D.
- Verify that the information is true and correct before placing your order.
- This package is only required for weddings taking place within New York City's five boroughs: Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens, Brooklyn, and Staten Island.
- The Universal Life Church does not publish a directory of its clergy (in case you are asked about that).
Instructions
We provide you with a packet of legal documents, already filled out with the necessary information from our side. Your next step is to fill out your part of the application. After completing it, you must either mail the original documents to the city clerk or personally deliver them to the city marriage office for registration.
Once approved, you will be authorized to conduct the wedding ceremony. Please note that submitting your application may involve an additional fee paid to the clerk's office, which will retain the original documents.
