On August 31st, gay rights advocates in Iowa had a fleeting taste of victory. Judge Robert Hansen struck down Iowa's gay marriage ban on grounds that it was unconstitutional, in a ruling that he then stayed less than two hours later. Bringing suit against the State of Iowa were six gay couples who argued that Iowa's gay marriage ban infringed on their rights to equal protection and due process.
During that brief window of time, several couples managed to perform brief wedding ceremonies and obtain marriage certificates from the Polk county clerk's office.
Our position of the issue of gay marriage can be found in this earlier blog post. "The Road to Jericho" expresses our intention to defend the God-given and constitutionally protected rights of all Americans. For this we ask for your prayers, support, and donations. God Bless
