A shocking incident at a religious group's anti-abortion protest in Toronto has gone viral. It all started with a number of protesters standing on a street corner waving pro-life signs. An onlooker, apparently angered by their cause, then decided to get involved - that's when things quickly spiraled out of control.
The man, who has since been identified as Toronto resident Jordan Hunt, confronted the protesters and began vandalizing their signs with a permanent marker. As the situation began to heat up, a female member of the group stepped toward Hunt and started filming. The video shows the two arguing back and forth before Hunt suddenly sets his feet, pauses for a moment, and then delivers a roundhouse kick:

Backlash Immediate
The video quickly took off on social media and has since been viewed millions of times, eliciting strong reactions - especially in religious circles. After it was initially reported that Hunt walked away from the scene without speaking to police, many critics called for him to face justice. For his part, Hunt claims it was an accident and that he was simply trying to kick the phone out of the protester's hand. Instead, his kick missed and struck her in the shoulder.
But his employer didn't see it that way. In the aftermath of the video's release, the hair salon where Hunt worked announced that he'd been terminated. Nor is he off the hook from authorities - Toronto police said today that they're investigating the incident.
Debate Intensifies
The debate over abortion - ever a hot-button issue - has seemed to reach a fever pitch in recent months. One factor could be the high-profile confirmation hearings for the vacant Supreme Court seat, an extremely important position that could impact abortion laws for decades to come. But other incidents have likely played a role as well. Back in June, we wrote about the controversy surrounding a Christian pharmacist who refused to fill an Arizona woman's prescription for miscarriage medication on religious grounds. There's also been an uptick in Christian-run anti-abortion centers across the U.S. that critics say masquerade as health clinics and manipulate women into thinking they have no choice but to give birth.
In any case, whether you're pro-life or pro-choice, surely we can all agree that violence is not going to solve anything. If this debate is ever going to be settled, it will require respectful dialogue and cool heads. No kicking allowed.

Not much to debate about this article. Whether you are pro-life or pro-choice doesn't really matter. When it comes to exercising your 1st Amendment rights to protest, nobody has the legal right to assault another person to any degree. It's really this simple - assault someone, get arrested.
What many Americans are lacking is a full understanding and respect for how to protest or counter-protest. Peaceful and legal are the key elements that determine the success of any protest in a civilized society. Get a permit, make your signs or shirts or whatever, protest where you are permitted, and conduct yourself with civility and within the law. This is not my personal fairy tale view of how it should happen, this is how our constitution and democracy frame it to be.
Violent protesting has always plagued us as a nation, but recently we have seen an uptick in violent behavior primarily endorsed by far left and right hate groups, left wing liberals and many Democrat and Socialist politicians. I'm not trying to make a political statement here, just expressing the facts. These groups primarily have been promoting and practicing this uncivilized behavior and even feel they have a "right" to act in this manner. They are either ignorant of how our society is designed to function or have no regard for our American ways. They act like a red-faced, temper tantrum child when the adult tells them they must play by the rules and can't have it their way. They can't handle it when the adult tells them that it's Billy's turn to talk and we shouldn't interrupt them or just because Sally doesn't think the way you do doesn't make her wrong and definitely doesn't give you the right to spit on her, hit her or throw things at her. Lastly if you're playing a game of chess or any other game and you are losing, you have no right to scream out "it's not fair" and then knock over the game board. More than ever, we are experiencing a higher population of people 18 years of age and older who want to be recognized as adults and receive the perks that go with that status, but conduct themselves as an unruly 5 year old and think that they are right by doing so.
I would like to be see how these "adults" would act if their own children conducted themselves toward them as parents like they conduct themselves in public toward others.
So I end with these thoughts. Do to others as you shall have them do to you. Violence begets violence, hate begets hate, love begets love. Love thy neighbor as thyself. Regardless of your faith, these really are universally accepted fundamentals to living a peaceful and civil life.

BUT PREGNANCY IS NOT A MISTAKE, it is a failure to plan.The failure was made in the very beginning BEFORE intercourse, when precautions/preventive measures could have/should have been taken. As adults, we must understand that there are real consequences for our actions and we must accept the responsibility for our own actions. Your comparison lacks consideration of some factor., RevNed. The whole purpose for the death penalty is to uphold the sanctity of life. A convicted murderer is put to death to show to the rest of the world that the life he took was sacred. You cannot compare the taking of a killer's life to the taking of an innocent, helpless child's life. The "cut-off" age is irrelevant. It is a matter of the person's respect for the life of others. The only way this can be taught to some people is by taking their own life away. If others see this is the penalty, when they are young, they will direct their own thoughts away from murder, in the interest of self-preservation. On the one hand, it is a mass- or macro-psychological ploy, and on the other, it rids society of predators.

I think this incident has a lot more to do with frustration over general populous stupidity and the pervasiveness of surveillance culture. This guy was obviously annoyed about not even being able to have a conversation in public with another human without it being recorded by some social justice idiot. A man should never kick or kick at a woman. There can be no excuses for that. Accident or not, he admitted to kicking at her hand that was carrying the phone, and that means he would have hit her hand to knock the phone out of it, and that would have been just as much of an assault as hitting her shoulder.
